AFTERGLOW

I'd like the memory of me

To be a happy one.  I'd like

To leave an Afterglow of

Smiles when the day is done

I'd like to leave an echo....

Whispering softly down the

Way of happy times and

Laughing times and bright

And sunny days. I'd like

The tears of those who

Grieve to dry before the

Sun of happy memories

That I leave behind when

 day is done.

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.

I am not there.  I did not die.

The following picture is compliments of Big Bob and Michele

I stood in silence with my friend,
Watching people cry and leave
All of whom loved him so much
And wished this be an awful dream.

Tad Jones had Great Heart, you could see!
He smiled such warmth at everyone
I wish we could go back in time
So that this thing could not become.

In one such lonely moment there
As I looked upon her face
The loss within her eyes, her soul
Was so profound, yet she, with grace
She still called back into my mind
The image of a magic - real!
And I remember it so well
How much you both made me believe
That there is greatness in this life
So brightly shown within your love
Though you'll never know the gift you gave
You showed me something from above.

An awful set of circumstances
Slew this man with much to give
But I'm so grateful for that sight
That made me recall what real love is.

I don't know much of anything
I've no idea just what to say
To see any good in such an evil thing
That took so much warmth and love away.

The only small thing that I can say
From my heart, so often filled with strife
I'll remember the magic you two showed me
In a way
You may have saved my life...
